We decided to reward the kids good behavior with a taste of bretzels and pastries, and a trip to Yabadoo, a German indoor playground. I even decided to join in the fun and challenged the girls to a race up the super pyramid. I didn't win BUT I am happy to boast that I did make it to the top. It only took me 5-6 tries. Here is proof!

Off to the Races!
My Mom and Aunt Gay arrived last weekend and hit the road running by jumping on a bus just hours after arriving by plane. Off to Paris to see the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Versailles, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame ect. and more. You should know they climbed about 400 steps to reach the first level of the Eiffel Tower and were rewarded with a great view of the city of Paris.
After arriving back in Germany we had a down day for recovery then spent today wandering the German Weinstrasse (wine road) and touring the Villa Ludwigshohe, the vacation getaway for King Ludwig I which commanded spectacular views of the vineyards and quaint villages below. We even had to wear special slippers over our shoes to preserve the parquet floors. Poor McKenna could barely keep upright and slipped and slid across the grand ballroom.

Man, I am so jealous! It's always been a dream of mine to go to all the fun places you've gotten to visit! It sounds like you are having a great time!
Glad you are all having a great time! I laid in bed the other night and thought of all the French words I could still remember from my Jr High French classes....I could have told them to shut their mouths, order french fries, told them who I am and asked if they were going to the library!Oh and count to 10!
Have a ball, all is well here as far as I know. Alan is having shoulder surgery on the 16th, but that is all!
I've been thinking about you guys all week. Wishing we could be there too but our time is coming soon. Can't wait. Glad to hear the trip to Paris went well I bet they were exhausted. Your day in King Ludwig's vacation spot sounds wonderful too. Tell Mom and Gay hello.
So glad every one is having a great time. I am so impressed that you climbed the stairs at the Eiffel Tower! Were you able to walk the rest of the day?
All is well here. We had a great 4th of July! Now just back to work for a week.
Have fun. Look forward to hearing more.

Sounds like fun! It looks like you are having a great visit! The indoor playground looks pretty neat. I wish we had one of those by us.
awesome!!! that's it, we're coming over!!! i'll have to find out which airport to fly in to. Looks like you are having an amazing time, I'm so happy they are over there with you. There is nothing like having company come when you are living far away (okay, I know Iowa wasn't nearly as far as Germany - but it sure felt like it most of the time!) Glad you are having fun!
