went a little like this today (not verbatim but close) with my friend Holly at the schwimbad (swimming pool):
McKenna, "Holly, are you married?"
Holly, "Yes, I am married"
McKenna, "Well my mom isn't married today because my Dad is at work"
Oh, McKenna, sometimes you hit the nail on the head in your sweet and simple ways. There are times I do feel like a single parent with Mark on the road most of our life. I spend more time than I should dwelling on this. But today I had a thought, maybe this lifestyle is making my life more sweet. Instead of being on the slow, safe, never changing merry-go-round of a life, I get to ride the thrilling roller coaster of difficult separate times with forever change followed by the sweet reunions when he comes home and we are reunited. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. So here's to Mark: get home already your girls are here waiting for the reunion part of our ride through this life!
