German Playgrounds Rock!

Everyday we spend time at a German playground I am amazed at how well thought out they are. Not only are they bigger than life but they are sturdy AND there is always an educational component to it. Yesterday, we spent time at the Gartenshau that is a flower park combined with a dinosaur exhibit. The kids had fun peaking through the trees and rocks to find the hidden dinosaurs and then we spent time on the playground.

This next picture shows a part of the kids play area that is all water play. It is full of pumps, levers, drills with climbing rocks and waterfalls. The kids were mesmorized by the different "tools" they could use to move water around.

Then we ended our trip to the park with apfelstrudel and ice cream.

I took mom and Gay to the walkplatz to show them a typical German shopping experience. There are only a small handful of indoor shopping malls, every German town has a walkplatz which is their main shopping district lined with outdoor shops and cafe's. Another reason I love Europe. For dinner we enjoyed Brats with our fabulous German neighbors who really know how to BBQ.

That park looks so great. I love those swings! Seriously they are awesome. I want one. I want to go play on them. I love the picture of the girls in the dinosaur and the picture of Mom and Gay is excellent too. Glad to see they are enjoying their time there.

sounds like fun! It looks like you are getting some really nice weather. We have had rain off and on all day this week, which I have actually enjoyed, but it doesn't make for good weather to plan a day out. I am glad you are having so much fun with your family.
