While reading one of McKenna's library books the other day (which is one crazy creative read with a twist of French air about it), we learned the definition of panache. Panache is a "sense of style and excitement, a kind of verve or swagger". Then the book asks, "You know what I mean?" I think we do:
McKenna proceeded to say, Momma, I'm going to have panache when I go to school tomorrow. She was referring to her field trip to the Gartenshau with her 1st grade class. The Gartenshau does a theme each year with their pumpkin crop, this year it was Grimes fairytales. We knew it was going to be a good day when we came upon a ladybug before we even entered the park!
Here is McKenna with two of her classmates:
Here is a perfect example of panache, tightrope walking in a skirt!
I enjoyed hanging with McKenna and her classmates!
Today, before church, McKenna continued to maintain her panache. She gave her smile a little verve and swagger by loosing one more tooth while brushing her teeth. We are definitely loosing more than gaining. But her panache continued when she put on the dress my sister sent her and the fabulous tights we found on Saturday. Whoever creates the tights for little German girls has so much panache it is unbelievable. They are so cute, full of color and design and every year we pick up a couple.

She definitely has panache. I love the tights and call dibs on them for when Ellie is her size and can continue with the verve :)
She is like a "fancy nancy" (panache sounds so much fancier) but we have known that for sometime.. what a beauty and what a great day! Love you McKenna!
