Castle's and Concerts

My mom is in town visiting! She arrived on Wednesday and already we have had a busy week. While Bailey was at girls camp, Mom, McKenna, Nina and I went on a castle adventure. We went to the Hardenburg Castle ruin near Bad Durkheim. We went with a group of my "mommy" friends and their children so it was so fun to have lots of kids combining all their imaginations.
This castle is what every kid imagines a castle ruin to be: adventure and a place to let their imagination run freely. When McKenna asked about a certain hole, passage way or courtyard she would ask, "Mom, what's that for?" My answer every time was, "What do you think?" and then her imagination would run wild.
Here is McKenna with her flashlight about to follow her friend into the catacombs!
This is a view of the castle from the village below. It was quite a trek to get up there, but then you had to conquer the castle and climb to the tower where the flag was flown.
Over the weekend we were able to see Mark perform with Touch 'n Go twice. Once at a military family event and the second at a German fest. This was exciting since he rarely has local gigs that we can attend.
