Surrounded by Piranha's!

Yesterday was Bailey's second swim meet. She continues to swim like a fish, even though she was surrounded by Piranha's (another team's mascot). One race alone, she was the only Kingfish swimmer, all the rest were Piranha's. Here she is just diving off the block.
This time she competed in the 50 freestyle, 50 breast stroke and the 50 butterfly. She improved her time in the breast and competed for the first time in the 50 fly and came in second place. She just needs to work on all her times so that she can qualify for CHAMPS and we can have an excuse to go to the Netherlands in the spring. Go Bailey!
This is how Mark spent the day, bless his fatherly heart, in the stats room. He was allowed to come out to see Bailey compete, then right back to "the room". You can barely see him in the room behind the glass.
Thankfully we had a wonderful surprise, our good friends, the Rasmussen's came up from Heidelburg! Great to hang with and especially great because McKenna had a buddy all day and we got to see and cheer for each others kids. Plus, they schooled me on swim team lingo which I desperately needed. And when I say we were there all day, I really mean ALL DAY. Some kid pooped in the pool and it was closed down forever (or at least over na hour) while the cleansing took place. That is all I'm going to say about that.
Here is Bailey competing in the Butterfly. Check her diving from the block. This is especially great. While she was in swim lessons all last year, this was her biggest road block, she was so scared of the block and of diving. She overcame her fear and rocks the block now!

Next meet, I'm taking my zoom lens so that I can get some different shots.

GO BAILEY!!! I love that I can say my niece can "rock the block". Are they sure it wasn't just a Snickers bar or Baby Ruth floating in the pool?

Ellie wants me to tell you all "What's up Meow"
