Sitting in the green blaze today waiting for Bailey to get out of school, McKenna is in the backseat reading her new library book. She is "reading" it to me while I am reading my book in the front seat. I'm pretty engrossed in my book so it takes a minute to register that she is "reading" words that make no sense, seriously, they are not even in the dictionary, total gibberish, with a grand flare of creativity. As she is "reading" she is pointing to each word and following from left to right, just like the big girls do, and there is great effort being expended to do this.
I didn't even say anything, I guess the questioning, confused, eye brows buried deep look was enough.
McKenna, "What?! It's in English Mom!"

I can only hope for many more McKennaism's to come. I've decided to keep a little 4x6 notebook in my purse so that I can jot down the little things that the girls do and say. Seems like these moments enter into my mind, I get a kick out of it and barely remember it to bring home to Mark. He deserves to be entertained by his children just as much as me!

German English I suppose? Keep jotting & sharing . We all need a laugh, love her. Grandma
she is so cute and funny. I love the first picture of her peeking over the book. It's so fun to watch them mimic. I caught Ellie with a piece of paper talking gibberish while pointing at the words the other day.
thanks for the phone call the other day it was nice to hear your voice.
I started doing that...keeping a writer's journal in my purse...thanks to Cathy Zielske (I have to get you that book!) I've already got the journaling for 5 layouts from 2 weeks of carrying it. And, is that picture at top one of yours? it's great!
The cupcakes are my creation, they were for Bailey's birthday party. It was a fun idea from a book my mom gave me for Christmas.
