Our new favorite castle is . . .

. . . Burg Eltz of course. This castle just sky rocketed to the top of our castle list! It has all the necessities to make it mysteriously captivating and still inhabited by the original Eltz family, 33 generations! That is one family tree. The castle is nestled in the woods requiring a hike into it. The castle is still furnished with items from the 1500's on. There are knights armor, all kinds of weapons, tapestries, king's bed and the biggest mortar and pestle on earth, that is some pesto! Here are a few shots:

Mark took a day with Bailey, Mom and Aunt Gay to the grand city of Koln! They saw the spectacular cathedral where the 3 wise men are entombed. They wandered along the Rhein River, saw St. Martins and enjoyed gelatto. They ended their day the perfect way, touring a chocolate factory. Mark was sweet and brought me truffles . . . little did he know they sure burned on the way down . . . a little something extra to make your head swim, kinda like rubbing alcohol!

We loved Burg Eltz too! It's amazing how well kept the inside is. Glad you got some yummy chocolates. Nothing like a little fuzz to help you sleep right? I bought some cherries soon after we arrived here. They're the Moi Cherry ones. Little did I know that they too would have a burn going down. I've since become good at reading the label for the little liqour in the ingredient list.

So good to talk yesterday. We've been curious to know what adventures you all have had with Mom and Aunt Gay. Burg Eltz sounds amazing can't believe the original family still has ownership. Amazing! Ummm truffles Mark knows how to treat a girl right. Can't wait to get my hands on some good chocolate...

It sounds like you guys are having a great time. I'm jealous that you are going to all the fun places without me. I'm still coming one of these days to visit. Take care and have fun and eat some more chocolate for me.
