My girls' got talent!

So often when I am exercising I get blog ideas and yesterday I thought of this one on talents. Both of my girls have many talents but yesterday these are the ones I love?! . . . I mean love!!!

Bailey has the gift of music like her dad but instead of being the quiet "back of the band" bass player she is the front man. By front man I mean the only man allowed on stage at any given time. I can prove this as every picture I take of her (casual, traveling or posed) she is in full theater pose with arms raised high above her head, impossibly huge smile, head slightly tilted, and the stance that shouts, "get ready for this!" You can constantly hear me saying, "please lets just take it down a notch". She can hear a tune and immediately recall what the name of the tune is and where she heard it last. Plus she can sing the lyrics to an entire song after only hearing it once or twice. She even mimics the voice inflections of the singer's from Christina Aguilera to Aretha Franklin, perfectly. And boy does she give us extravagant concerts every night while in the shower. We think she is trying to sing to France and Poland as well as Germany. And her bravado . . . . must be heard for yourself, I can't explain it.

McKenna can catch flys with her bare hands!!! This is not a one time random hit, I have witnessed this repeatedly. She gets the fly in her vision and locks onto it (I really mean lock because I can't talk to her, she physically cannot hear and concentrate on anything else) Basically she probably tortures the poor bugger until it gives up and lets her end the abuse. Just yesterday another victim fell in the dining room. And as she is proudly telling me of it's demise she finishes by saying, "Mom, I put it in my hand and tore it all apart." She is not kidding, there were fly parts all around the crime scene. She nonchalantly states, "now I need to wash the blood from my hands" and casually walks to the bathroom. Should I be concerned?!?!?! Well I am . . . .

When these talent's surface I calmly remind myself that these characteristics will benefit my girls when they get older. Bailey for instance will entertain and bring joy and laughter to all around her. Never mind the ringing in their ears. And McKenna . . . well . . . uhm . . . oh, here is a good one, she won't take any crap from anyone?! Is that it?

oh yes they are talented little girls. I've witnessed Bailey's singing and bravado and love it. In fact can't wait to be apart of the audience in August. I've seen how focused McKenna can be as well, but catching flies wow! That is pretty intense. Maybe she will be a surgeon when she grows up with the steady hand and concentration that she has.

So funny...and amazing! Your girls are beautiful and along with their talents, they will do well in life. I love McKenna's talent. I think she and Camille are similar in that later in life, they won't take crap from anyone. It is those stubborn, unrelenting ones that make life difficult when they are young who succeed later in life.

Great post, Leslie. I am trying not to laugh out-loud because I am in the library reading this. I can't wait to see and hear you and the girls tomorrow. I love you all.

These girls really are talented(don't we all benefit from Bailey's infectous smile and enthusiasm, and well, I would pay money for Mckennas abilities put to work in my house), and Leslie your humor is great! I love that you actually remembered to post some of the great stuff you thought of on the treadmill. I think of great stuff and then its gone, when I'm blogging. You definately make me smile.

This is really wierd, I posted a comment a few days ago and it never showed up. Maybe I was quick to exit without seeing that I probably typed the word verification in wrong.
anywho...yes the girls are talented! I need a fly catcher here. We've got some huge ones. And, Bailey can sing in the shower with the girls. We've got some howlers here!

Too funny! But it must make you feel nice that Bailey has such a good self esteem and confidence to be so bold. That is what they say makes a star--talent plus guts. And the fly thing--EWWWW. I get obsessed but I can't stand to touch them because of the germ factor.
