To understand this post you need to read the previous one, "What a week" first. =) SO I think I learned last night that you CAN have too much "me time". Never would have thought that, but Mark is out of town and when this happens I look forward with giddiness to the free time I have after the girls go to bed. Most of the time I curl up on the couch to watch a movie, but no good ones lately have caught my eye. So at 8:30 last night I curl up into my warm, soft and fluffy bed with a book titled "The Kommandant's Girl" by Pam Jenoff. I find it intriguing as the story takes place in WWII Poland, maybe because I have just traveled there or the unfathomable and sickening idea that the holocaust is real and I can't understand how it came to that. The next time I look at the clock it is 10:30 . . . what?! already?! My "me time is slipping through my fingertips. I'll just read a little more, I'll be okay (this coming from a girl that totally requires AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep to function as a human being). The next time I look at the clock it reads: 1:40AM. Oh NO, I'm in too deep, I can't put it down, I have to find out if Emma/Anna survive! So I press on thinking maybe one more hour will satisfy me and I can finish tomorrow limping a little. Next I find myself turning the last page of the book with tears in my eye's (either from emotion or red bloodshot eyes, we'll never know) and the clock is screaming, "IT IS 4:30AM, ARE YOU CRAZY???!!!) Yes, and then a resounding NO. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and will welcome the punishment that awaits me in a mere 2 hours. AND I will not feel guilty, there's that word again, for putting in TWO movies in a row this morning for McKenna to watch while I doze on the couch. McKenna by the way, thinks she has died and gone to heaven, (what? no chores and I can have any snack I want even if it is chocolate candy at 8:00am AND stay in my PJ's all day?!) Yes, my dear that is what your day has waiting for you. Continue to enjoy it!

Umm I can't see the title of the book? 4:30am! The last book I read that got my attention like that was the Kite Runner. I couldn't put it down even though I was sobbing in bed with it and Gary was looking at me funny. I picked up Eat, Pray, Love and read that until 10:30 last night (I love her humor) not bad for a non reading magazine addict :)
Danette, Sorry about the missing title, I added it to the post. I'll be interested to see what you think of the India (middle part) in the book you are now reading. I got lost but would love your take!
Leslie! I love your blog. Did you survive the day? I'm sure any little child would love chocolate and movies in the morning. Glad you enjoyed your time.
Wow! Leslie! That's amazing! 4:30 a.m. I don't think I could have done that. Oh, that makes me so tired just thinking about it!
