We have had a splendid time getting ready for the big day. Sunday we went to church and the girls got to wear their Christmas dresses for the first time (darn flu!). That night we were able to share our family tradition of having Aebelskiver's on Christmas Eve. Of course it wasn't Christmas Eve, it was a day early but it was really fun to see our friends experience the danish pancakes for the first time. We had tons of toppings to choose from, yummy fruit salad and of course hot cocoa. Fulfilling family traditions in my own home helps to make me feel more connected to my family even though we are far apart. Maybe when they are cooking their pancakes they will be thinking of us and smiling. Christmas Eve was spent at our wonderful friends home; Freddie, Claudia and Michael. The table was so beautifully decorated. We shared great conversation as well as great food. The girls came home and put their brand-new PJ's on and we tucked them into bed. Whew! What a great couple of days!
