Jack Frost IS nipping

BRRRrrrrrrrr! We having been dreaming of a white Christmas this year and last night it definitely came in the form of Jack Frost at his best. The fog this morning fog is so thick we can't see past our garden out back. There is a thick, heavy coating of frost on everything else, including this spider web outside our window. Even though it is a spider web (and you all know how I feel about spiders) it was really very beautiful. It was very intricate and detailed. I took this picture while the sun was up but by using my flash and the portrait setting the focus went to the web and blacked out the fog in the back. Completely thrilled with the results! It is really unheard of for it to snow by Christmas in Germany. Usually after Christmas we might get one day of snow, the kind of snow that you have to hurry, bundle up, and get out there before it is gone. Because it never actually snows it remains bitter cold. German cold is much colder than any other cold I have felt. No matter how many layers you have on it gets through to your bones. So the countdown begins, 3 days til Christmas. The shopping is finally finished and now for the fun part, baking! Stay tuned . . . .
