Boom shack-a-lacka

We are in for a very happy new year now that Mark is back and I'm not outnumbered by children. They playing field is even again, wohoo!

We were invited to a rockin' party at our friends the Togisala's. They are professional party people. Good food, great friends and A lot of entertainment while watching the clock count down. Oh, and did I mention the fireworks? Because there were fireworks, lots and lots of fireworks (hence the suitcase that was carrying only ONE families contribution. . . I'm talkin' to you Mike Smith).

We started the night with a good ol' round of Karaoke. Mark sang "Dead or Alive" with Bishop and "Cold as Ice" with Bishop and Bro Togisala. I did video this but I have run out of patience with uploading on YouTube. But believe me when I say, we were very entertained.
Bailey pitched in a little with her friends:
Bailey with her "pack" . . .

The best news of all this year was the complete milestone that was accomplished by our little McKenna. Let's just do a photo journal of change:

Last year:
This year at the beginning of the night. We have made it to the outside. No tears.
But the fear is there . . .
We are still outside, no tears. We have one finger removed from at least one ear, and that was so she could hold a sparkler. A SPARKLER!!!
Well lookie here, no fingers plugging her ears, sparkers in BOTH hands AND she is smiling. That's a prime example of progress!
Bailey says, "Wha?!"
And here is another shot, just because I love it and I love who is in it!
I put up with YouTube long enough get these two video's uploaded. One is of the "Daddy Daughter" debut. The quality is horrible because I learned a lesson about this particular camera: zoom= crap. Too bad I had to learn that lesson at that moment. The other is just an inkling of what we experienced ringing in the New Year. We experienced exactly 100 minutes of fireworks with no break in the action at anytime. Professional pyro's I tell you. I love watching grown men giggle like children. Nobody lost an eye or a limb and for that we are grateful.

Wow! It looks like you all had so much fun! I am so happy that Mark was home to ring in the New Year with you. And I LOVE the picture of Bailey and McKenna, but I have to tell you that I didn't recognize Bailey at all. I think it must be that she isn't wearing her glasses. Beautiful!

McKenna is too funny - so proud of her milestone!;)

Gosh I love Journey!!! What a great rendition by Bailey and Mark! (Ahem...maybe MARK should have sung that on deployment??)

Looks like you guys had a fantabulous celebration, and I'm glad you were able to spend NYE together!

Laurel, that is actually one of our favorite babysitters, not Bailey. I should have clarified that. So, no wonder you didn't recognize her! =)

The fireworks looked awsome! We forgot to set off our fireworks, so I am going to save them for Jon's b-day! Glad Mark is home safe and sound. Good job McKenna! Have fun!
