My Happy Girl!

Every since I can remember, this is our theme song for Bailey.

She is pure sunshine in our lives. Because of her we have laughter, song and groovy moves in our house on a daily basis. She is a compassionate, sensitive girl with a heart of gold. When she laughs, she laughs from the tips of her toes, to the top of her head, the good 'ol Frandsen laugh. Today, Bailey turned 10! Seriously, please tell me I am not old enough to have a ten year old, I'm only 21 for heaven's sake!

Bailey has been saving for an iPod for nearly a year now. Her goal has not wavered even though tempting things pass before her eyes. After putting a portion of her money in savings, and toward tithing to give to our church, she has consistently put the rest aside in her savings account. Mark and I decided enough is enough and we surprised her with making up the missing half so that her green iPod (named Green Girl 10) can come home where it belongs. We spent all morning and afternoon loading songs and then shopping for songs with her iTunes card that McKenna gave her. This evening I loaded a bunch of photos on from all the way back to when the Frandsen's went digital. I put her whole family on, Grandpa's and Grandma's and of course the Great Grand's, aunts, uncles, cousins; if you are related to Bailey, you're there! She can watch the photo slideshow while listening to her favorite tunes.

One of Bailey's favorite things to do, which unfortunately might take a back seat to Green Girl 10 for a bit, is read! If she can get her hands on it, it is devoured and completed in record time. Bailey is the reason I have been reading so much in the last year. I was never interested in books but this year I have read 40 books! Thank you to my sweet Bailey for being such a good example of how to intelligently expand my mind instead of waste it away with media garbage. I'm not cured completely because I do love a good movie!

Gary and Danette, you can see she was thrilled with your book choice, "The Tales of Beedle the Bard". Basically we lost her after this gift, she didn't finish breakfast or acknowledge us in anyway shape or form until the key secrets she has been waiting so long for were revealed to her.

We shared Bailey's birthday cake (because first of all the darn thing was so huge it would have sunk us for sure had we not passed it around) with our German neighbors Manfred, Erika and Laura. Bailey chose red velvet cake. Good choice! Happy Birthday my sweet!
