Kerwe (ker-vah) in Germany defines a festival or carnival. Pretty much every village whether big or small has at least one per year. These usually happen in the spring and summer then in the winter they have Christmas Markets.

The rock band that Mark plays in was invited this weekend to a village near us to play for their Kerwe. The kids and I, along with some of our band and church friends were able to come and enjoy the fest! We had a rockin' time. I swear every time I hear this band they get tighter and better. They play such a variety from Gretchen Wilson, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Pink to Foo Fighters, Brad Paisely and good ol' Motown tunes.
Here is a little taste:
During the fest there are table set up where you can order drinks and light food and desserts. Want to know what was happening outside the tent? Something we had yet to witness in our German Kerwe experiences, beer crate stacking. The kids were mesmerized. Hard to explain but here is a clip to watch:

Great Music! I have seen that beer crate stacking alot around here as well. They seem to have them at any type of outdoor get-together.
At first I didn't see the rope he was holding on to, it made me quite nervous. That looks like a fun event! Glad the weather was sunny for the festivities.
That looks like a lot of fun. The band does sound really good and the beer crate stacking looks like something Gary would get into.
I think it is a dream job that Mark could be in the military and do something like this. He is just so good! Also, I had never seen anything like that stacking of crates before--wild! But I shouldn't be surprised!
The music sounds great, your family seems like they are loving Germany and all the fun experiences, even the crates. I miss you and believe me I have not forgotten about coming to visit.
Looks like fun... Mark you look like you were having fun out there, sounded great! We sure miss you guys and the fun we had.
