I had to say "goodbye" to my mom and aunt this morning, never an easy task. We had a great time during this visit, many adventures, many laughs, a few frustrations (darn miss Martha), good food, late nights and getting the chance to see my kids fully enjoy having their Grandma dote over them. This is my favorite part! I grew up with my grandparents within a 15 minute drive. But with this life Mark and I have chosen, my children have a different childhood.
So. . . because I have had to say my fair share of goodbyes I have learned that the best way to do it is to focus on the "next time". Even if we don't know when that is. Then I'll do what I can from afar to keep my parents involved in our lives as much as I can so that I can foster the grandparent/grandchild relationship.
Thanks for the good times, mom! Until next time. . .

Sounds like it was a good trip can't wait to talk to Mom and Gay about all of the adventures. Your right about focusing on the next time I've trained myself to do the same with Gary's family. I must have picked that up from you somewhere sometime. Anyway, we are looking forward to saying HELLO!
Leslie, I have missed you around so now I know you were enjoying your extended family. Where was that picture taken? I like the minatures. I am glad we can live by (1.5 hours) Günter's parents so my kids get to see some extended family, since they can't see mine!
Thanks my dear, till next time...
Love ya all. Grandma
We have learned as well not to say goodbye, we always say "see ya soon!" Too hard saying goodbye all the time!
Guys, this was taken at the Linderhoff palace. That crazy Ludwig, thankfully we can relish in his extravagance.
It is so fun to see all of your adventures and hear about them, what a great time of your life. I talked to your mom the other day and she said she had a great time. I can't wait to come see you. Hope you had fun in Italy. Never say goodbye, I like that, its too hard, til next time.
