Workin' holiday

So Mark was tasked last week to gig in Stuttgart and Garmisch. The girls and I just couldn't pass up the chance to go "on the road" with him. We were able to travel down and see the band perform at an elementary school. The girls had so much fun (so did I) dancing and gettin' our groove on baby!

We LOVE staying in Garmisch and can always find new and exciting things to do in the Bavarian region of Germany. On our way we made a stop in Munich to visit the zoo, one of the largest in Germany and boy was it worth it. The Frandsen's always b-line it to the monkey's because we know of the entertainment that awaits to tickle our funny bones. We were not disappointed, for we were able to meet "buckethead". The monkey that swung from the vines with a bucket on his head the whole time. McKenna stills giggles so hard when we talk about it.

While in Garmisch the girls would be satisfied to pickle themselves in the swimming pool and eat treats while watching movies in the hotel room, BUT we did get them out into the sunshine a bit. Bailey spent one day with the "kids day out" program. She rowed a boat in Mermaid Lake and was lucky enough to spot the mermaid and hear the story behind why she is living there. If you ask Bailey about this, she will reveal a fantastic story. She really enjoyed her "kiddo" day and vows to do it again asap. Mark, McKenna and I took a short road trip into Austria to visit Lermoos. We ate the second best apfel strudel (the first is in Rudeshiem my friends) in all of Germany even though we were in Austria. That just might be blasphemy to talk about strudel outside of Germany. While Mark worked, the girls and I swam, watched movies and ate way too much sugar. The next day we went into Oberaummergau (I know it took me awhile to pronounce it but it sounds just like it looks). We visited my favorite woodcarver shop and finally bought the gigantic red bowl that I have been coveting for the last 3 visits down there. You know you gotta have it when you dream about it for a year. Here is a shot of a drive by! hee hee look at me in the side view mirror!

We also toured a cheese factory and got to taste the goods. We ended our day with a sweet treat, gelato, you just can't go wrong with that. And take a look at the presentation! So fabulous!!!

Once again a trip to Garmisch that did not disappoint! Here are some more random shots:

Leslie,
I hope you are learning to make the strudel!!! I am so jealous of all of our travels. Thanks for taking me along in you pocket!
I second your Mom, where is the Big Red Bowl??
Along that same line, your Mom gave me one of the pottery platters for Christmas, the I Am A Child of God ones. My little guys think it is so neat to have that. They have to look at it everytime I bring it out for a special occasion. Such fun!
