Mark returned recently from a tour with the USAFE Band called OSG (Operation Season's Greetings). The band took a rockin' show down range to several bases in Iraq, England and then home to Ramstein. They were joined by members of the Band of the AF Reserve from Warner Robbins, Jamie O'Neal, Melena Leon and of course the crowd favorite the New England Patriot Cheerleaders. The photo on the left is Mark in Talil, Iraq. The other photo is Mark with Jason (guitar), Jack (guitar for Jamie O'Neal), and Tom (drums). What a great opportunity to be able to serve the deployed troops that once again are spending the holidays apart from families. The band just clicked this year, the set was so tight and kickin'. Even my mom rocked the house as the beat forced her from her seat to dance with her grandkids. The girls felt like superstars at the Ramstein concert as they were presented with backstage passes and got to meet all the musicians and the cheerleaders. I'm so proud of Mark for pursuing his passion of music. It has not always been the easiest choice to be a musician but then you get those experiences like this one where everything clicks and it is pure euphoria. Then all the hard work pays huge rewards and he is reminded why he chose this profession. Mark has always wanted to be a "rock and roll" star and never thought he would live it out in the AF band but look at him now! Come January he has been given the joint responsibility of overseeing the main rock band here at USAFE. Watch out! This band will ROCK the house!

YAY!! I printed this out and took with me to my company Christmas party. The Lightwood Duo (Eric Nelson and Mike Christiansen) were providing the entertainment for that party and I wanted them to see what you were up to. They were both very pleased and happy for you! They were excited to hear what you were up to and to catch up with your activities. Mike said that he would share this news with his daughter (apparently you played in a band with her in St. Louis?) and with Cory. Eric said he would share the news with his daughter too.
Way to go!! Keep up the good work!
Love you,
Laurie
